National Reconciliation Week
Wednesday 27 May, 5.15pm - 7.30pm
First Nations Weaving Workshop
As part of National Reconciliation Week, we invite you to join us for a special After 5 Series event led by Tahnae Davidson-Bartley for an evening of creativity, connection and reflection.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you will be guided through the traditional art of weaving, creating a beautiful basket to take home or gift to someone special. Each guest will receive a weaving starter kit, along with all materials required to create their own piece.
Led by Tahnae Davidson-Bartley, a Kullilli Wiradjuri woman who has lived on Kaurna Country for nearly 30 years, this workshop draws on weaving traditions Tahnae learned from Yolngu Elders as a child. Inspired by the way family and community gathered together through weaving, Tahnae’s sessions invite participants to slow down, still the mind, connect with others, and experience the calming, meditative rhythm of weaving.
This event is complimentary to Festival Tower tenants.
This event is now fully booked, however you’re welcome to join the waitlist and we’ll be in touch if a spot becomes available.
